Horatiu Mocian has a BSc in Computer Science from Petru Maior University of Targu Mures, Romania and a MSc in Advanced Computing from Imperial College London. Starting from 2006, he has been working on research & development for the Newistic platform, together with Ovidiu. From October 2009, he is involved full-time with the company taking the role of CEO.

Ovidiu has a BEng in Information Technology from INHOLLAND University Amsterdam. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, USA. His main research interets are data mining in general and web mining in particular: online news collection and analysis, ranking, social networks, text clustering, text classication, sentiment analysis, geographical named entities disambiguation, personalized recommendations, scaling data mining algorithms.
Ovidiu sold his first startup - Playfuls Entertainment - in 2006, to pay for college. He started building the infrastructure for Newistic in 2005.
